James Sherwin is a leading AML compliance and remediation advisor, working with both regulated and non-regulated entities. His expertise spans financial regulatory matters, risk management, and remediation, with a practical focus on engagement with regulatory bodies.
Areas of Expertise:
- Advising on AML compliance, enforcement, and remediation
- Communications with the Central Bank of Ireland and the Department of Justice
- Supporting compliance departments, including resource-strapped teams
- Periodic reviews of controlled functions such as MLROs
- SEAR compliance and reducing regulatory risk
James also advises on commercial legal matters, particularly mergers and acquisitions, corporate investments, shareholder disputes, and strategic corporate structuring.

Dr. Hillary Ray
Former Head of Compliance, ffh Management Services (Fairfax Financial Group)
With over 20 years of experience in compliance, regulation, and risk, Dr. Hillary Ray brings a wealth of knowledge from both Irish and international regulatory bodies.
She previously held senior roles at:
- Central Bank of Ireland
- ASIC, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission
Her responsibilities included leading investigations, implementing risk mitigation and remediation programmes, and supporting authorisations and regulatory policy development.
As a Non-Executive Director at Lexio Advisory, Hillary provides high-level strategic input to the executive team, with particular focus on:
